About the data
Where the trades come from, how often the site updates, and how to download everything behind it.
Sources
Members of Congress must report stock trades over $1,000 within 45 days under the STOCK Act, in periodic transaction reports filed with the House Clerk or the Secretary of the Senate. This site reads those reports, normalizes them into one trade table, and joins market data, committee assignments and the legislative calendar.
- House Clerk financial disclosures (periodic transaction reports)
- Senate Electronic Financial Disclosures (eFD)
- Senate Stock Watcher (transcription of eFD reports, 2012 to March 2021)
- Quiver Quantitative congressional trading API (Senate reports filed after March 2021)
- unitedstates/congress-legislators (members and committees)
- SEC EDGAR company tickers and SIC codes

What the results mean
Each reading says whether a member's public record resembles a known insider-trading signature at a stated confidence level. It is not a finding of wrongdoing, and it cannot see trades that were never disclosed. If you find an error in the data, please open an issue.
